Clothes Mending Workshop by Re_Thrindle.
Sashiko, meaning ‘little stabs’, is a traditional Japanese stitching technique, used to mend and reinforce worn-out garments. In this visible mending workshop, you’ll learn the basics of this traditional Japanese method of repairing and get the chance to mend one of your own pieces of clothing.
Sashiko is all about embracing the art of repair. It encourages us to make visible mends and wear them with pride! While traditionally done in indigo and white, we will use colourful threads and patches to make your pieces stand out.

DETAILS
A photography exhibition by Theo Moye in collaboration with charity Action East Devon who enable children and young people in East Devon to work through mental health issues and move on to live happy, healthy lives.
Inspired by a charity newsletter article that called for alternatives to the stereotypical ‘head in hands’ image depicting mental health issues like anxiety and depression, Theo created an image to illustrate his experience of anxiety and thought it would be rewarding to collaborate with other people to create images that depict their mental health. Working with young people in Action East Devon’s Headlight groups in Ottery St Mary, Axminster and Seaton, they have created images reflecting their experiences.
