Sparks
Accessibility
A warm welcome for everyone
At Sparks, we aim to create an inclusive and welcoming space for all our visitors. We do our best to meet individual access requirements wherever possible.
If you’d like to discuss specific access needs, please get in touch with us via email at bookings@sparksbristol.co.uk or call us on 07879 231317.
Key accessibility features
Wide aisles and level access to the ground floor for wheelchair and pushchair users.

Sparks is always evolving! Some of our shops and installations may move around from time to time, but the overall layout stays the same, so you’ll still be able to find your way around easily.
Take a break in our seating areas – there’s no obligation to buy anything.
Our Nature Department features a Joey Pod, a calming pod designed for neurodiverse visitors.
Every Wednesday 2–4 pm, join Flourish in the Nature Department for mindful games, chats, or quiet relaxation.
We have a service lift that provides access to the upper floors. The first floor houses our event space, and the second floor includes toilets, with an accessible toilet available. These facilities are open to all event participants. Our venue assistants are on hand to help with lift access at all times.
A free library of LGBTQIA+ books for children and young people, with a cosy reading area to sit, read, and chat.
Sparks Café and all our spaces welcome breastfeeding.
Things to bear in mind
Because Sparks is run by two small charities and we only have temporary use of the building, there are some things we aren’t able to provide.
We don’t have public toilets available (except for event participants). However, there are accessible toilets very close by at John Wesley’s New Room and The Galleries.
Our customer lift is unfortunately out of order at the moment. If you’re attending an event, we can escort you in our service lift – it’s quite a unique experience!
Sparks is a sustainable project, and most areas of our building do not have centralised heating. Our approach is to heat people rather than spaces. Event spaces are equipped with spot heaters for smaller groups, and our larger shared studio has a more comprehensive heating system.
We’d love to hear your ideas to help us make Sparks more accessible. Please get in touch via email at bookings@sparksbristol.co.uk or call us on 07879 231317.
