A festival to celebrate local storytellers and book lovers!
We’ve got new and secondhand books, children’s storytelling, indie authors, illustrators and local crafters/storytellers, kids entertainment, workshops and bookswaps! All attendees are encouraged to dress as their favourite book character and join in with the fun!
What’s on:
- 12:00 – 13:00: Children’s storytime with readings by local children’s authors and illustrators
- 14:00 – 15:00: Stories for grownups with readings from 6 award winning local authors and poets; Judy Darley, Helen Sheppard, John Wheway, Chrissey Harrison, Emma Phillips and Jude Higgins
- 15:30 – 17:00: Publishing workshop by Discover your Bounce where you will learn how to plan, write, publish and launch your book and get a free signed book!
All day drop-in activities:
- Free book binding workshop run by the Art Kindness to teach adults and children how to bind their own mini book
- Free children’s craft activity based on Rebecca the Woodpecker
- Pay as you feel Zine making workshop where you will learn how to make your own Zine with Carlo Hornilla
- Local traders including Myth and Lore Zine, Smiley Face Designs, Emmaus, The Learning Pond and Tarot Rebel
- Stories behind bars drop-in Q&A about how creative writing for prisoners is helping to fund support for families affected by offending
- Tarot readings from Tarot Rebel
- Clowning by Honksy Wonksy
