DETAILS
Threads Of Memory is a free drop-in workshop that introduces participants to Tatreez; traditional Palestinian embroidery which tells the story of Palestinian people’s history, homeland and heritage through stitch.
Participants will be invited to learn a beginner cross stitch technique and create their own decorated square using recycled fabrics, photographs and visual references inspired by Palestinian landscapes, food, nature and traditional Tatreez motifs. The square patches could contribute to a community quilt or participants are welcome to take their piece home.
This workshop encourages creative interpretation and storytelling through stitch and recycled materials, welcoming both beginners and experienced makers.
Colouring sheets will be provided for younger children.
Hosted by Jessica O’Brien
