Whatever skills or time you can offer, we want to hear from you! We have a wide range of volunteer roles, you could be engaging with the public on the floor of Sparks, helping with events or supporting behind the scenes with social media or operations.

Available roles
Come and help at Sparks’ wide-ranging programme of events, as and when you’re available. These might include our Earth Day Heroes celebration, International Cultural Festival, Festival of Stories, International Repair Day, craft events and more!
Help with free family drop-in craft sessions at Sparks!
Volunteer as an energy advisor and chat to Sparks visitors about how they can reduce their bills and save energy, following training provided by Bristol Energy Network
Support interactive school workshops based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The Reparirium is looking for volunteers to welcome visitors. You don’t need to have repair skills, just a friendly and helpful manner. You’ll explain how the repair cafe works, support visitors to log their repair details and record feedback. There’s a group of Repairium welcomers, so you can help on a Sunday 11.30am – 4.30pm as and when you’re available.
Sparks’ library is open on Saturdays 11.30am – 2.30pm, and we’ve just added a lot more books to our collection! We’re looking for librarians to help 11.30am – 2.30pm on Saturdays as and when you’re available.
We’d like to start hosting non-fiction reading groups in the seating area by our library space. These might be an opportunity to bring a book you’ve valued and share it with others, or may be a discussion about a book the group has read before meeting – it’s up to you! If you’d be interested in hosting, planning or organising these sessions, get in touch and let us know.
